This
is a really quick, cheap and easy way to make a protest. If lots of people are
all calling one company on the same day to protest, they are going to have difficulty
escaping the issue.
Lots
of campaigns
do phonecall protests. If you visit campaign websites you will probably find
a few numbers you can call. It's not scary and you don't have to say much. Also
keep checking our action
alerts as we will often include phonenumbers that you can ring
up!
If its a fur store you are calling, explain that you are appalled to hear they are selling fur and that you won't be coming to their shop again until they stop. If you have a fur leaflet with you, you can tell them some facts about the fur trade.
If you are ringing someone connected to vivisection, you can ring up and tell them the horrors of animal testing, and also the effect it has on people. It has been known for companys to get thousands of phonecalls in a day - and yes its worked, because it has made the company think twice and often they have changed their ways!
You could write out a list of phone numbers you would like to ring to keep in your wallet, and then when you are out and about if you pass a call box you could spend a quick 30 seconds making a call.
[Remember to keep all phonecalls polite, and don't make harrassing calls!]
